A visit that delighted High Commissioner for Planning Clément Beaune, a guest of the 4Vs today, for whom " it's very good news " and who noted " a real desire for European engagement " on the German side.
Clément Beaune notes a real change in cooperation between France and Germany with the arrival of Friedrich Merz as head of the German government. " The German platform has completely changed. We're talking about defense, we're talking about massive investment in defense at the European level. This is a real turning point. There will, of course, be issues on which we disagree; that's what Franco-German is all about. But there is a cooperation, a state of mind, a desire to move forward that are, I believe, much stronger, " analyzes the High Commissioner for Planning.
